A one rupee silver coin of 1908 of King
Edward VII series ,attractive feature of the coin is that, in maximum silver
coins the engraving is in both English and Persian, evaluated to Victoria coins
that showed only English. On one side "ONE RUPEE INDIA" is written
along with the image of the crown
and something in Persian and on the other side there is a image of the emperor
king Edward VII without the crown cladding right and the reason behind these for not wearing the
crown is that though Queen Victoria died on 22nd January 1901, Edward's
coronation was not done till 9 August 1902. The master dies were invented
before the coronation, so it was not possible to display him wearing the crown.
To correct this, a pattern rupee was destined in 1910. It has not been minted
for public use as king Edward died in the same year.
